Confronting the past is never easy.

Cole Whitaker is happy. He has the job and boyfriend he always wanted. His heart’s in no danger of being broken, and he can’t ask for more from life. As a kindergarten teacher, he sees it all; however, one troublesome student has him reaching out to the parent, wanting to help. There’s something about Savanah that tugs at his heartstrings.

He never expected her father.

Zander Brooks hasn’t had an easy life, and he’s made some mistakes. Freshly retired from the military and working as a firefighter, Zander thought he’d left Cole in the rearview mirror. He’s not expecting him to appear in St. Petersburg, Florida, of all places, teaching his daughter’s kindergarten class. Suddenly, his biggest mistake is being shoved in his face.

This is Zander’s chance to close a door he’d never fully shut, but time with his former flame might change his mind.

Cole is happy with his life. A job he loves, a boyfriend who warms his heart, and a veritable zoo in his back yard. But one child is disrupting his class and her father is called in, and Cole's life is thrown for loop. Zander broke Cole's heart all those years ago and now look at him all grown up, here, in Florida, with a four year old he knew nothing about til she turned up on his doorstep a year ago. Both men struggle with the obvious attraction that still blooms between them. Will they give it a proper chance this time??

You know sometimes, you just need a book to fall into? To just live with the characters, and forget about the world outside the window??

This book, right here. Massive warm and fuzzies, people, a too-stinking-cute-slash-warm-and-fuzzies book that just made my Sunday morning!! And I'm gonna make a warm and fuzzies shelf now too. (Because warm and fuzzies is NOT the same as too stinking cute, but both apply to this book!)

It's well written, from both men's point of view. You get Cole's reaction to Zander. And you get into the heart of Zander when he fights with himself about why he left all those years ago. We ever when Zander decides to go for it with Cole, hearts be dampened and we get when Cole decides that a two foot distance is far too far apart.

There is no major drama, no falling out, no nutty ex to content with, just two guys, finding each other again after so long. And it got me, right there, and I bloody loved it.

But what made this book, what totally and utterly MADE this book, was that epilogue. Oh, don't get me wrong, this was already a five star read at that point but hearing from Savanah, some 13 years later, was just tipped it over the edge and made me cry! In a good way, mind, a very good way. It showed how much Savanah would miss her dad and Cole, how much she loved them, and still, after all that time, they loved each other.

So, thank you, Ms Harding, for making me feel altogether human again after a really rubbish shift at work, for making my Sunday morning, I didn't get out of bed til I had read this and I read it in one sitting.

Because, you know, I loved this book!!! And I need more from Ms Harding in my life!
