Nobody ever said life was easy...

But things don't always go as planned...

Struggling with her creative side, Jane finds herself in turmoil, often confiding in her roommate - another, more talented art student, Keith Hale. Keith just so happens to be her boyfriend's older, brooding brother. After a devastating breakup, Jane turns to Keith for comfort. But when the lines blur between roommate and lover, Jane's life becomes more complicated than ever before.

When Keith's past comes back to haunt him, their lives all get turned upside down, forcing the truth to surface. Now Jane must fight for what she wants--even if it hurts everyone she loves.

Wow. This book blew me away. It left me speechless, which is hard to do if you know me. It was absolutely a beautifully written story that deserves to be read and shared by all avid readers. Once I finished the story I found myself googling and searching to find more books to read by this author, but I was saddened but excited to find this is her first story.  I definitely think there are great things to come from this author.

This story is pretty raw and uncut. The characters are real and have flaws. They have tragedy in their past and they have families that are far from perfect. These character face realistic challenges and experiences. They are far from perfect.  I couldn’t have imagined reading a better written story dealing with these characters and chain of events.

I found myself being able to relate to certain parts of the story and relate to characters off and on throughout.  It might have resurfaced some of my own memories that have been pushed to the back of my mind but even that didn’t knock my feeling of this book. It’s not a sugary sweet story.  The characters have to fight for what they want, what they have, and what they believe in.

The details and descriptions allow for ease of reading and ease of being able to picture the scenes and really immerse yourself into the story. They make it easy to understand and picture some of the things going on in the story. They allow you in to visualize some of the hurt and pain the character’s experience.

There were times I just “knew” what was going to happen. It just had to happen like that. Then there would be a twist in the story that made me think otherwise. Then something else would happen that would change my mind.  It was like this throughout the story. I don’t know about you but when writers do this it just grabs me even deeper into the story.  If I could have I would have read this story in one sitting but sadly life didn’t allow me to do it but you can bet, I read it as fast as I could. I was sad to see it end but I would recommend the story to you without a second guess.
