BLOG TOUR & REVIEW - Coming Together by Brandy L Rivers

Coming Together by Brandy L Rivers
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Series: Others of Seattle #5

Chaos can drive people together or apart.

Jackie Oceans is evolving through major life changes. Her best friend is finally moving his life forward and she’s attempting to let him go. Her power has risen to the surface, leaving her no choice but accept the truth. And now a charming vampire Stefano D’Angelo has taken an interest.

Eddie Swiftclaw has been saying he’s going to propose for months. Problem is, he’s not in love with his intended fianc√©. His surfacing power further complicates matters.

Jackie seems to be everything Stefano has been missing since his wife passed away centuries ago. He can’t decide if it’s her resemblance to Eloise, or her true nature, that lures him. In the end, does it even matter?

Everything comes crashing down with the introduction of a new threat in Seattle. Jackie and Eddie will learn things they never expected. Will his loss and her new admirer push them together, or drive them apart?

4 out of 5 (very good)

This is a full-on and detailed story with a basic concept given the Brandy Rivers twist into a fantastic and gripping tale. Jackie and Eddie have loved each other forever, but each of them thinks they can't have the other. Eddie has gone through a series of relationships, whilst Jackie is convinced she will never have one. This doesn't stop her from having sex mind you, but she is not a 'loose woman' either. The story starts with Jackie doing the walk of shame, as Eddie considers proposing to his girlfriend. Things change and danger stalks them at every turn. Will they be able to overcome the danger and be together, or will it drive them apart?

Well-written and fast paced, this book had no editing or grammatical errors that I found. The writing was descriptive enough that each scene was completely visible, and yet not so overpowering that you become bogged down with detail.

I will say that for some reason, and I really can't elaborate as I don't know why myself, I seem to prefer the Others of Edenton to those of Seattle. Still, this was thoroughly enjoyable and I loved every moment. Definitely recommended.

An avid reader, Brandy has always loved writing. She became serious about it as a stay-at-home-mother. Her secret lair, guarded by a pint-sized pound puppy who imagines himself a hellhound, contains a file full of manuscripts she plans to edit and put out with new creations she is constantly dreaming up. Living in rainy Western Washington with her husband and three kids, Brandy is already working on future stories in each of the series, and several other projects.
