All I have ever wanted was to feel loved and to have a family of my own. I thought I had that in my 12-year relationship with Ignacio but I couldn’t be further from the truth. Ignacio has gone from my childhood sweetheart to a stranger who sleeps next to me. Long gone is the thoughtful boyfriend he used to be. He is now of one of the largest crime families in the tri-state area. Some despise him; most fear him; I am on the brink of both. Most of my nights are lonely as Ignacio rarely finds his way home to me but then I met HIM. The 6’3” dark haired man with the most brilliant topaz eyes I have ever seen enters my life and turns my world upside down. – Anaya Scott
I never expected the brown-eyed beauty to set my soul on fire. She has become my salvation; my world; my ANGEL. Her light shines bright in my dim life and has given me hope for a future. But there are things from my past that has a grip on me and prevents me from moving forward to a brighter existence with her. Will my secrets and lies destroy us before we have a chance at a fresh start? Or will Ignacio be our ultimate downfall? The one thing that I know is that I will die before I let anything happen to her.- Tony Delaney
- Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am a very laid back person who loves a good laugh especially when the joke is on me. Life is too short; you have to enjoy it.
- What inspired you to write your first book?
I wrote it as a dare from my best friend initially and then I it ended up being a comfort to me when I was dealing with health issues.
- How did you come up with the title of Bedlam?
Actually a very good friend who is my ex-boyfriend came up with the title Bedlam.
- Describe your main character in five words.
Lonely, Unloved, Caring, Devoted, Talented
- What was one of the most surprising things you learned in writing Bedlam?
Emotions, I had to tap into emotions that I probably would never delve into. I think in its own way it has helped make me a better person; odd but true.
- Have you ever done anything strange or weird in the name of research?
I’m a New Yorker so the better part of my day is doing strange or weird things. I wouldn’t call this strange but I did reach out to people who had encountered certain topics in the book to get their insight.
- How long does it take you to write a book?
Well since this is my first book I think it is hard to gauge. It took me about 3 months to write; that is not including the editing process.
- Can you share a little of your current work with us?
My current book is called Mayhem. It is Tick’s story. Tick was a minor character in Bedlam. In Mayhem I explore more of the friendship between the sexy men of Bedlam as well as giving Tick a love interest. Of course some crazy plot twists that I am super excited about.
- What is your work schedule like when you're writing?
It varies. I have days when I sit and write for 8 hours (couple of breaks in between); then I have days where I need an emotional break from writing. I have also had days where I just can’t stop writing because I have to get the thoughts out of my head as quickly as possible.
- Do you have any writing rituals?
It may sound strange but I actually need silence to write. Zero distractions.
- What book are you reading now?
None unfortunately. I chose not to read any books when I am in the middle of writing a book. But I can tell you the last book I did read before I started Mayhem; Creed by Kristen Ashley. As soon as Mayhem is done I will be reading Souls Unfractured by Tillie Cole.
- Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
I hope everyone enjoys this book as much as I have enjoyed sharing.
- What’s in your fridge right now?
You name it and it’s probably in there. Cooking is a fun past time for me.
- What song do you sing at the top of your voice every time you hear it?
Currently the song would be “Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd.
- Other than writing, what special or unusual talent(s) do you have?
I am the listener or problem solver for all my family and friends.
- Where did you last go on holiday?
I went to Alaska to celebrate my birthday with friends in September.
- If feral aliens attacked your house and they were zapping your home with their Über super bombs, what five items would you save?
An old family album, a necklace that was given to me when I was 16, laptop, cell phone, bottle of Jack Daniels.
- If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
Not misunderstood; just being me.
