This book blew me away. This story was absolutely breath taking. Sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad. This is the type of story that will keep you guessing and keep you reading. It gets to the point where you think the story is ending and then another twist and turn. It’s a story packed full of emotion and feelings. It’s full of detail and description. This story about Lukas and Ivy is a story that must be read.
Whew, this book was a roller coaster of emotions. Happy, sad, anger, shock, love, and the list continues. There were a few times when mumbled a few choice words to the book and more than a few times when I might have cursed our the husband/ex-husband. He was ignorant and a deceitful jerk. His actions left me commenting out loud multiple times and left me angry every single time.
The best way to describe this story is twisted. I don’t mean this to be taken in any kind of negative way. There were times I had a hard time wrapping my mind around what was going on. Lukas’s life leads a twisted path from childhood even through adult hood. Ivy’s ex is a twisted, twisted man. Ivy has to jump through and twisted events to live a happy life. Ivy’s daughter is given an extremely twisted proposition.
The love in this book is on another level though. Lukas is capable of giving more love than he has ever received. He is perfect. He is caring. He is incredible. He is sexy. He is caring. He would give his life and everything in it for those he loves. He is also broken. Just as the negative feelings in this book are on the extreme side so is the love. It’s black and white there are absolutely no grey areas. The love portrayed in this story is like looking at a painting when the brightest of bright colors are used.
I loved the story. It was a unique story and the author provided a different way of telling the story. It’s not a cushy romance story. It’s a raw, unfiltered love story full of angst. It is beautiful! I’m going to have to go pick up books one and two of this series though because I’ve got to read more from this author.

I have a passion for the bad boys, those covered in tattoos, sexy smirks, ripped jeans, fast cars, motorcycles and of course, the sweet girls that try to tame them and win their hearts. My debut series, Ashes & Embers, follows the lives of rock band members as they find, and sometimes lose, the loves of their lives.
My first novel in the Ashes & Embers series, Storm, was published in September of 2014 and book 2, Vandal, was published in February 2015 with several more of this series planned throughout 2015.Born and raised a Jersey girl, I now reside in beautiful New Hampshire with my husband and our multitude of furry pets and spend most of my time writing, reading, and vacuuming.
