All of Me

To bond with his destined mate, an Alpha wolf must look past what he sees and trust what he feels.
Bonded by their parents before they were conceived, wolf shifters Abel and Kai adored each other since they were children. As teens, the two future Alphas took the next step in their bonding process and vowed to remain true to one another until Kai came of age. But when tragedy struck, Abel felt betrayed and ran from Kai instead of completing their mating.
Abel never stops yearning for the man who was supposed to lead by his side and after years without contact, Kai returns, broken and on death's door. If Abel wants to fulfill their destiny and merge their packs, he'll need to look past what he saw and trust his heart.

4 out of 5 (very good)

I received this book from WLK Book Promotions in return for a fair and honest review.

All of Me could be classed as a cautionary tale of what might happen if you jump to conclusions, assuming you know all of the facts and run away without discussing anything that has happened with the other person involved. Abel would have saved himself ten years on anguish if he'd spoken to Kai originally... but then would he? After all, the evil of the piece was still around and all the threats used were still viable. So basically I'm trusting in Cardeno C to tell me the story and taking her word on what happened.

This is a very well-written novella, with compassion, angst and hotness all rolled into one. Loved the story, loved the HEA.

“Sexiest Man Alive” and Golden Globe winning actor Ethan Baker lights up the screen but fizzles in his personal life. But as Ethan makes the familiar drive to his best friend’s house, an unexpected detour and a bewildering passenger take him through places in time he’d long forgotten. This book reminded me, whether intentionally or not, of A Christmas Carol except that it's not Christmas and there's no ghosts shaking chains... but still, you get the idea. Ethan's girlfriend breaks up with him so he drives round to his friends, the only place that feels like home. On his way there, he has a mystical happening which takes three hours out of his life. He gets the chance to see things in a different way - things that he wouldn't or couldn't see before.

This book was good and I did enjoy it. The only thing that didn't work for me was the speed with which Ethan had his epiphany! He goes from straight to gay in the blink of an eye and everyone is okay with that. Even that was well-written though which is why I've given this four stars.

A Shot at Forgiveness

Sometimes to find love, you must first learn forgiveness.
A dozen years, two thousand miles, and a law degree after high school, Rafi Steiner continues to harbor resentment toward Isaac Jones, his childhood bully turned NBA star. When Isaac appears at Rafi's favorite restaurant acting like a long-lost friend, Rafi bluntly dismisses him.
But Isaac is tenacious and he has his heart set on the grown-up version of the boy he always wanted and never forgot. The way Isaac sees it, he and Rafi are perfect for each other, if only he could sink the most important shot of his life: his one shot at forgiveness.

My feelings for this book are mixed but in the end I decided that as it was a FICTION book, I'd go with the flow and try to ignore the whole stalker anthem going on and instead try to look at it from a romantic perspective instead.

This is a novella and as happens so often, you have to have things move on VERY quickly because otherwise it would be a novel. That is what happens with this book. Rafi goes from hating Isaac to sleeping with him and being fantastically in love, almost in the space of a page.

There are bits that I didn't like so much as compared to Cardeno C's other works but that still didn't stop me from enjoying this book. My advice to anyone wanting to read this Marmite book is to blithely ignore the parts you don't like and thoroughly enjoy the parts you do. It worked for me!
