RELEASE BLITZ, REVIEW & #GIVEAWAY - Uncovered by Truth by Rachael Duncan

Title: Uncovered by Truth
Series: Lies and Truth Duet #2
Author: Rachael Duncan
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: June 17, 2015

My life has been full of uncertainties. Little did I know the biggest one would come in the form of a green-eyed beauty. She came into my life and flipped everything on its end and now things are more messed up than ever before.

Being former Special Forces, I’m no stranger to fighting, but this is different. This is personal. The stakes feel much higher and the struggle to save her will be my most challenging mission yet.

But I have a secret. A secret that threatens to tear apart everything we’ve built. I just hope she can overlook them when all is revealed.

You know me as Alex Matthews.

My mistake was getting involved with her, knowing what was on the line.

Their mistake was taking me away from her.

Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian I Dig Good Books.

This is book two in the Lies and Truth series, and you MUST, you absolutely must read Hidden In Lies first. I mena it!! You won't get the full picture of Elizabeth and Alex, of Elizabeth and Cal, and of Elizabeth and her mother.

We were left hanging after Hideen In Lies, hanging onto a cliff by our finger tips and this picks up immediately where that left off, Elizabeth thinks Alex is dead, and Alex is staring down the barrel of a gun. Alex is taken by Cal's men and has to assasinate the front runner in the up-coming elections, or Cal will hurt Elizabeth. Elizabeth is withering away. Alex is withering away watching Elizabeth wither away, and when Alex catches Elizabeth at her lowest point, Alex breaks cover.

Hidden in Lies was told almost entirely from Elizabeth's POV, bar a few lines at the end. We get them both here, but much more of Alex. And as much as I don't like mulitple POV in the first person AND in the present tense, I can honestly say I loved it here. I loved that we get Alex falling apart, and we get to see feel it, and darn well live it through him. And I LOVED that right out the blue, Elizabeth pops up, with whats going on in her mind.

The book has so much passion, and I don't mean just sexual. Its ful of deep ranging emotions, from one extreme to the other. It had me cringing, crying and cheering for joy.

It has some very difficult scenes, difficult to read, and I can only assume they were difficult to write, you'll need your tissues, believe me!! But Rachael pulls it off beautifully, expertly, and perfectly.

It doesn't quite have the ending that Hidden In Lies did, this is, after all, their conclusion, so your device will be safe from a fate worse than death. But I am sad. I waited for this book, and just like that! POOF! Its done. I would like to read Rachael's other book I found on Goodreads, Tackled By Love. I'd like to see what she does with a single book story, how it plays out.

I can't quite stretch to 5 stars, but it truly deserves more than 4.5 so...

4.75 stars

**same worded review will appear on Goodreads, and**

“Oh my God, Alex. They’re going to kill us, aren’t they?” Her lip quivers as she grabs onto my arm.

I grab both of her shoulders and stare into her eyes. “No, they’re not. We’re going to stay right here and we’ll be fine, okay?”

“But they’re going to come in after us. We need to leave.” Her voice rises with urgency and I know I need to calm her down before she does something stupid out of fear.

“Good. Let them come in after us. We know they’re out there. They’re not expecting us to be ready for them. We know the layout of this cabin. They don’t. We’re going to position ourselves in a way that makes it impossible for them to surprise us. In here, we have the advantage.”

Rachael Duncan is an Army wife to her amazing husband, Steven, and mother to their beautiful daughters, Natalie and Zoe.
