Wonderland: Taken by Passion
by Jaymie Holland
After being cheated on yet again, full-figured Alice O'Brien no longer believes she’ll find her Prince Charming. She resolves to enjoy men, but refuses to involve her heart.
When she literally tumbles down a rabbit hole, she finds she has left her familiar home city of San Francisco. She has landed in a strange and beautiful world, where she meets a powerful and dominant shapeshifter, Jarronn, and his equally fierce and irresistible brothers.
By the draw of a card foretelling his kingdom’s future, Jarronn has deliberately lured Alice to his realm in hopes of averting a terrible danger threatening his people. He has every intention of saving his kingdom with his and Alice’s bond of passion, and nothing will stop him from making her his Queen of Hearts.

Alice runs after finding her fiancee in bed with another woman and a man. She runs and finds herslef falling down the proverbial rabbit hole. But instead of Wonderland, she lands in the KIngdom of Hearts.
High King Jarronn chooses Alice at the turn of a card. But once she is here, and he introduces her to the pleasures long denied her, its Alice who holds his heart.
But darker forces are at work, will Jarronn be able to keep Alice safe??
Slightly different take to the Alice theme, but a good one!! Hot and steamy with some MMMF and MMMMF scenes, it has a good enough plot line to keep you going.
It is alos the plot line that lets it down. I'm left with questions, with gaps in my understanding. I understand that Jarronn's sister cursed the females of the land to think they were infertile, just not why. I understand she was left out when the land was divided between the four brothers, just not why. I understand that Alice's bonding required all four brothers, but what of future bondings? Will Jarronn be expected to take part in Ty's bonding?? Will Alice let him??
I'm hoping future books will fill my gaps, because, these gaps aside, I really did enjoy this! I do hope I get to read those books too.
While Jarronn had walked her back to the castle, Alice had felt like she was skipping across the Tarok blue-green clouds. She’d never felt so sated, so loved, in all her life. Yes, her sister, aunt, cousin, and friends loved her, but this was different.
Although love… That was a word she hadn’t intended to use with any man again. Not after Steve and Jon. And how could she love a man she barely knew? How could he possibly love her?
Surprisingly, her experiences with Steve and Jon seemed so long ago, almost as if memories of them were slowly being erased from her mind. Even her father’s abandonment, and her boss’s sexual advances and subsequent firing, seemed to have faded.
Trust. Jarronn wanted her to trust him thoroughly, completely. After what she’d been through with all the men in her life, trust was a big word, an important word.
Did she truly trust Jarronn?
He was incredible. He was a real man. Powerful and dominant, yet strong and wise, caring, and loving.
Alice sighed and moved her hand to her collar and smiled. Okay, so he could be a jerk sometimes, too, but all in all he was pretty damn incredible.
At least that was the face he was showing her now. She would be wise to remember that all is not as it appears to be on the surface.
