Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

* Disclaimer * - I received this book from Xpresso Book Tours in return for a fair and honest review.

You should know, up front, that this is part of a series, and the story does not end here. I didn't know that going in and it knocked me somewhat!

Braelynn is studying law and lands a job for the final term as intern with her professor. He hands her a case that, while on paper, seems fairly simple, something pulls at her brain, in the back of her mind a niggle develops. Peyton Haas is lead for the opposition. They had met previously. But they need to stay away from each other as the case takes a disturbing turn.

I wasn't sure, for a long time, if I liked this book, and I'm buggered if I can figure out why. It is written from both Braelynn and Peyton's POV in the first person, but that didn't bother me here, I cannot put my finger on it, and its freaking doing my head in! I hate not being able to voice why a book bothers me. BUT it was only for a while, once I got much past half way, whatever it was didn't seem to be there anymore and I really enjoyed the latter half.

Lynn has suffered, in more ways that one, and doesn't want to let Peyton in. OH< by the way, I loved the difference between Peyton coming out and Haas coming out to play. LOVED that! Peyton pushes and Lynn eventually gives in.

I really liked the darker, undercurrents of their relationship. Haas is very alpha male, and once Lynn gives in Peyton is all mine, mine , MINE over Lynn. I liked that he was though. Lynn needed it, needed someone to love her, faults and all.

The case is a big part of the plot, but I can't say much about that without giving any of the game away. Suffices to say, it takes a nasty turn for the worst, and Lynn disappears for a week! Once she is found, this instalment ends.

I do, now, have book two to read, and that is next on my list.

AUTHOR BIO

Livia Jamerlan is the author of Divided. She is also a hopeless romantic who is always looking for her next love story to pop in her head. Though Livia kept a journal throughout her early life, she never thought about pursuing a career in writing. She always used it as form of therapy, pouring her heart out into words. It wasn’t until a story developed in her head that she decided maybe she could write a book. At first it was just an escape from reality, but now she uses it as a power to put all her feelings, hopes, and fears on paper. Deciding it was time to tell her story, she began to write. With each passing day the story grew, characters were formed, and what seemed like a hobby at first has now become a passion for Livia.

She is a New Jersey Native who loves spending time with her husband and two dogs Buddy and Daisy. When she is not writing or hiding behind her Kindle, you can find her with outside, gardening, at a local shopping center enjoying some retail therapy, or enjoy a pepperoni pizza.
