Book & Author details:

Part Time Cowboy by Maisey Yates
(Copper Ridge #1)
Published by: Harlequin
Publication date: March 31st 2015
Genres: Contemporary, Romance

A one-time bad girl comes home to small-town Oregon in the first in a sexy, heartfelt new series from USA TODAY bestselling author Maisey Yates…

Sadie Miller isn’t expecting any welcome-home parades on her return to Copper Ridge. Least of all from part-time rancher, full-time lawman Eli Garrett. The straight-laced, impossibly hot deputy sheriff glares at her like she’s the same teenage hoodlum who fled town ten years ago. But running from her demons has brought Sadie full circle, ready to make a commitment at last. Not to a man, but to a B and B. On Garrett land. Okay, so her plan has a tiny flaw…

Eli works too hard to let a blonde ball of trouble mess up his town. But keeping an eye on Sadie makes it tough to keep his hands off her. And if she’s so wrong for him, why does being with her feel so right?

Sadie returns home, after ten years. And is first met by the police officer, now Deputy Sheriff Eli, who arrested her ten years previous. There follows an amazingly written tale of fighting what you feel, what you want, and ultimately, giving it to all and and just... being.

I LOVED this book! It grabs you and pulls you along until you just have to go with it, go with the fighting and the drama, and just read.

Its the slow burning thing that did it for me. Right from the start, there is...not hate, thats too strong..dislike, a strong dislike for Eli and Sadie, towards each other and back again. BUT there is also that attraction, that slow burn, simmering attraction that HAS to bubble over at some point And boy did it bubble over in style!

The attraction aside, the story is good and solid and in some places, enough to make you cry. When it all comes out why Sadie ran in the first place, its so sad, and you feel for her, and Eli when he bares his soul to Sadie too. Its so well written, from both Sadie and Eli's POV so we get it all. We get both of their disintergrating into a pile of mush, their fighting it, and failing. Its the fighting it, that makes for the best reading, it really does.

This is the first in a series based in Copper Ridge, and its Connor, Eli's brother, who is next. I should like to read that one too. Connor is a mess, and Eli has been propping him up since his wife died.

I wanted to rate it 4.5 stars, but really can't find a reason to, so..

5 stars

USA Today Bestselling author Maisey Yates lives in rural Oregon with her three children and her husband, whose chiseled jaw and arresting features continue to make her swoon. She feels the epic trek she takes several times a day from her office to her coffee maker is a true example of her pioneer spirit.

In 2009, at the age of twenty-three Maisey sold her first book. Since then it’s been a whirlwind of sexy alpha males and happily ever afters, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Maisey divides her writing time between dark, passionate category romances set just about everywhere on earth and light sexy contemporary romances set practically in her back yard. She believes that she clearly has the best job in the world.
