REVIEW & BLOG TOUR - It's A Vampire Christmas by Lia Davis

Fan favorite author, Lia Davis, introduces us to a new paranormal romance series with IT’S A VAMPIRE CHRISTMAS, book 1 in the Vampire Lords series.

Can Rhianna keep more than just the book, holding secrets that can end an entire race, safe; or will she lose her heart to not one, but two, vampires intent on winning not only the book, but her heart?

ISBN: 978-0-9908867-1-6; digital: 978-0-9908867-0-9

Synopsis:

The hunt for the past will set their future…

Alasdair Morgan, vampire lord of the south Atlantic region of the United States, and his mate, Gideon, are on the search for an ancient journal. The secrets the book holds within its leather binding can be used to destroy their race’s queen, Lilith. When they finally find the journal, they discover it has been sold to an antique store. However, a female with her own agenda has her sights set on possessing the book.
Some gifts come in twos…

Being a half-breed living among humans, Rhianna Howell knows the importance of secrecy all too well. When she discovers one of the lost vampire artifacts, she doesn’t waste time in collecting it before it falls into the wrong hands. But keeping the journal safe from evil will put her in the seductive path of two vampires who claim to be her mates.

The days and nights heat up this Christmas as she discovers a fiery passion she can’t deny or run from.

Alasdair and Gideon have been together for a 100 years, but there is something missing, or rather, SOMEONE missing, their third, their female to complete their triad. Alasdair has seen her in a dream, a vision, but he is beginning to lose hope, as the bloodlust takes him deeper into rogue state. A book, a journal, is the catalyst that brings Gideon to Rhianna's door. Rhinna has secrets that Gideon won't like. Fate, however, plays her card, and the three come together to fight Violet, who plans to bring the vampires to the top of the food chain.

Cute. Real Cute. It's not often we get gargoyles in paranormal tales, and I do love me a gargoyle, nearly as much as I love dragons (who are not about as often as I'd like!) While Gideon and Alasdair are vampires, Rhianna is not. Part witch, part gargoyle, she is the very thing that Gideon hates. But he feels the pull as much as Rhianna does. And Alasdair too, when all three finally are together. Rhianna can finally be herself with her two men, she does not have to temper her strength, speed or passion. These two were made for her, and her alone.

It's a well-written tale, with plot that appears unfinished, since Violet got away. But Rhianna, Alasdair and Gideon get their HEA, and that's all that matters. This could well become a favourite series of mine if more appear, ESPECIALLY if we get more gargoyles. Then again, the way these vampires live, gargoyles are a part of their lives, their protection. So, fingers crossed.

It got 3.5 stars not four, simply because it is so short, just an hour reading time. An enjoyable hour, yes, but still only an hour.
